While Capcom has only confirmed these fighters, shortly after the game's announcement trailer dropped, apparent "leaked" images (opens in new tab) and videos began circulating online that appear to show unconfirmed characters, including World Warriors from Street Fighter 2. We know that Jamie's style will be based on "drunken boxing" and will combine breakdancing with chugging a ki-unleashing drink. So far, only Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, Luke (who all have updated designs), and new fighters Jamie and Kimberly have been confirmed for Street Fighter 6. Guile usually works extremely well as a keep-out style of fighter, and the return of his iconic Sonic Boom and Flash Kick specials make it look like that's not changing too much for his latest iteration. We love Guile's updated design, and it's cool to see his V-Trigger skills from Street Fighter 5 be seamlessly integrated into his moveset this time around. A brand new trailer showing off Guile was revealed right at the beginning of the Summer Game Fest showcase. The all-American World Warrior is officially confirmed to be returning to Street Fighter 6. What we do know for sure is that Street Fighter 6 won't be coming to Xbox One, even if it is available on PS4, though a reason for this hasn't been given. While nothing is confirmed, then, we think it's a safe bet that we could see Street Fighter 6 launch somewhere towards the beginning of 2023. More recently, Monster Hunter Rise launched on Nintendo Switch in March 2021. Resident Evil 2 Remake released in January 2019, closely followed by Devil May Cry 5 in March 2019. Monster Hunter World launched in January 2018. However, Capcom also has a history of releasing its biggest games toward the start of the year. This could be why Capcom has simply given a 2023 window for now, but that remains speculative. However, with many developers delaying games due to the Covid-19 pandemic's impact, we could end up seeing a later release.
#When does street fighter 6 come out series#
Several mainline games in the series have released in February, while Street Fighter 4 was released in July, so we imagine the release could be within that period. We don't expect Capcom to narrow it down soon, given the '2023' window was provided recently. Predicting when exactly in 2023 we could see Street Fighter 6 is somewhat of a tricky task too. Currently, we don't have a more firm release date or window than this.
